130 Telling Time

Activity: 

                Flag of the day: Page 17 – Ohio

 

Discussion: What shapes and colors and other things can the students see in the flag of Ohio.

 

Note:

 

Activity: 

Word of the Day Level II: Letter Kk – K, k – [key] – /keɪ/ – Noun, plural K’s or Ks, k’s or ks.

The eleventh (11th) letter of the English alphabet, a consonant.

 

Activity: Ask the students who can give five (5) words that begin with letter Kk very quickly.

Note: Letter Kk is the 11th, letter of the alphabet; it comes before letter Ll, and after Letter Jj.

 

Discussion: What did the students see in the Word of the Day Video?

Example: I saw Murray, and discuss what the students saw.

 

Note: SAW in this context is the past tense of SEE.

** Draw a clock and briefly show how to tell time.

  1. Hours Hand
  2. Minutes Hand
  3. Seconds Hand (Note not all clocks or watches have seconds hand)

 

Example:

                SAW => Before (past) – 3:00 pm

                SEE => Now (present) – 3:01 pm

                WILL SEE => LATER (future) – 3:02 pm

 

3:00 pm or 3 o’clock can be stated as is:

                3:00:01 is explained as follows:

                                3 = The HOUR

                                00 = The MINUTES

                                01 = The SECONDS
