Discussion: What can the students see in the pictures, do not accept one word answer.

Explain: A dress and skirt are different things, and that Daisy is wearing a DRESS.

 

Note: Names being with Capital Letters.

Get the students to understand the difference between name and non-names.

 

Capital Letter: A letter of the alphabet that usually differs from its corresponding lowercase letter in form and height, as A, B, Q, and R as distinguished from a, b, q, and r : used as       the initial letter of a proper name, the first word of a sentence, etc.

mother is not a name, so we do not use a capital letter.

sister is not a name, so we do not use a capital letter.

baby is not a name, so we do not use a capital letter.

Daisy is a name, so we use a Capital D.
