months with four or fewer letters, e.g. May, June, and July are not abbreviated, the remaining months Jan., Feb., Mar., Apr., Aug., Sept., Oct., Nov. and Dec. are abbreviated.
Explain: January thru December is 1 year and there are 12 months in a year.
Months start with a capital, because they are names.

There are 7 days in a week, 4 weeks in a month, 52 weeks in a year and 12 months in a year. (This can be briefly discussed; thorough explanation will be provided in a later lesson).
